Take Action Against Tyson Foods!

This post is not beauty related, and I am sorry about that, but this is something that I felt really needs to be said. I posted this on my Facebook, sent out a message on Youtube, I emailed the link to a bunch of people, and I am posting this here. Obviously I think this is of utmost importance. As I am writing this, I am literally sobbing. As some of you may know, I am a major animal lover. I have been vegetarian since August 2010, I do not support animal testing, and I am an animal welfare activist. Well, I just received this email from one of the organizations I am on the email list for, Compassion Over Killing. They emailed me a video from the Humane Society (I am subscribed to them on Youtube and saw the video had been posted, but did not watch it) that showed the conditions of the pigs that are destined to be Tyson ham. I have seen a lot of animal cruelty videos, but I have never seen one that upset me this much, to the point that I am crying outloud, gasping at what I am seeing, and watching through half-closed eyes because I don't want to see what is on the screen. Never have I seen so many sadistic, heartless people! When something says "Viewer discretion advised" or something along those lines, I do not pay attention to it because I can stand the sight of a lot of horrible things, but this video shows some of the worst animal cruelty I have ever seen. I strongly caution you before watching this video.

Below is the link to both the video and the petition against Tyson foods. Please, at the very least sign the petition and boycott Tyson. Signing the petition takes less than a minute, and the more pressure that is put on Tyson, the sooner they will change their horrible ways.

MAC & Animal Testing

I have been under the impression for years that MAC was a cruelty-free makeup brand. Well, I have just heard wrong. MAC sells its products in China, where it is required by law that cosmetics are tested on animals. Because of this, MAC is now on my Naughty List. Luckily, I have not ever bought MAC cosmetics. The very few products that I have from them were products that my mom bought and didn't like so she gave them to me. I am happy that I have not supported their awful practices. Please email MAC and ask them politely to change their animal testing policy and stop selling their products in China and other countries where animal testing is required by law. The more pressure that is put on them, the more likely they are to change and the sooner helpless animals' lives will be saved.

Here is my email to them. Feel free to copy and paste it as your own email. Make sure to change your name though! :)

Dear MAC Cosmetics,

I just found out that you test on animals, and I must say that I was shocked and extremely disappointed. I thought that you were cruelty-free. I heard that the reason that you are not cruelty free is because you sell in China, where it is required by law to test on animals. I sent you this email to urge you to stop selling MAC where it is required by law to test on animals because it is downright cruel and unnecessary. Making more of a profit is not worth the countless animals whose lives were lost to test these products. The MAC name has now been destroyed in the hearts and minds of cruelty-free beauty buyers. By using non-animal methods of testing, you can save a lot of money, because there are countless methods that are cheaper than animals and they do not kill animals. I will not buy any more MAC or Estee Lauder products until your animal testing policy is revised to 100% animal cruelty free and you cease the selling of your products in all countries that require animal testing.

For those of you who have never heard of Daily Look, this is a must-see website in my opinion.

Every day, they have at least one look that is on sale and you have 36 hours to buy it before the sale ends and you have to pay full price. I love how much work is put into the pictures, too, because it isn't just a model standing against a white background. They really take their time making sure every picture is perfect. You can always go back and see yesterday's look or looks from past days by clicking the links at the top of the page.

I love this website a lot, but the only thing that bothers me is the fact that they don't seem to restock. On items that I absolutely love, I sign up for an email when they are restocked in my size, but I have yet to get emails from them and I have been visiting this website for a few months. This website is a great source of fashion inspiration, too, because not only do you see the models wearing the clothing, but you can see how regular people recreated the looks.

My Top 11 Nail Polishes This Spring!

Spring has sprung and I have some of my go-to nail polishes this spring to show you. I chose 11 because I couldn't choose just 10! Anyways, enjoy! :)

1. Pampolina Purple by OPI

I love purple (it's my favorite color :D) and this color is just gorgeous. OPI's nail polish formulas are great because they don't chip like other nail polish brands and they have a vast amount of colors. This color I have been wearing for the past month (since I got it), either on my fingers or toes.

2. Re-Fresh Mint by China Glaze

Mint is one of the it colors this spring, so I felt the need to get this color nail polish. It is a light, pastel mint that it beautiful on. I got many compliments on this color when I first wore it.

3. Party Peach by ELF

I have never liked the color orange, but when I saw this color, I knew I had to have it. It is a bright, bold orange color (not peachy at all) that looks great on. It would look even better if I was tan XP but still, I love it.

4. Save Me by OPI

This is the coolest glitter nail polish ever. It looks like super small bits of confetti, not just regular glitter! It's a party on your nails! :)

5. Fly by OPI

This is a gorgeous bluey teal color in the Nikki Minaj for OPI collection. I bought the minis of the Nikki Minaj colors, but when I run out I will be getting the full sizes because I love these colors.

6. Nail Junkie by Sinful Colors

This is an awesome glittery nail polish in a color that I have never seen in other polishes before. The quality of Sinful Colors is amazing, so if you haven't tried them out, do your nails a favor and buy one. Or ten.

7. Did It On 'Em by OPI

This is a fun bright green polish, also in the Nikki Minaj for OPI collection.

8. Flirty Fuchsia by ELF

I'm not really a pink nail polish person, but I have this bright and fun color. It looks great with my skin tone. And it was only $2.

9. Soul Mate by Wet n Wild

Again, I love purple, and this lavender color is amazing.

10. Blazed by Wet n Wild

The name doesn't fit the color, but this in-your-face coral color is stunning. I am very into the color coral in the springtime and when I saw this nail polish, I had to have it.

11. Hottie by Sinful Colors

This is a pretty blue glittery polish that I really like to wear on my toes.

Sorry I have been gone for a month.... There's really a lot of reasons why I left for a while, but I'll just tell you a few. The main thing was a personal family issue that is now resolved, but also my camera qulaity isn't the best for makeup tutorials, and all of this is time-consuming. I didn't have time to do homework! But I'm not complaining. I enjoy filming :) But I wanted to start filming a few weeks ago, but I couldn't find my camera. After I found it, I realized it was dead and couldn't find the charger!!! But now I have everything and I'm ready to finish my website and post more videos!
